Rules of the Game
Dear Students,
I have created this blog for us to use throughout the quarter. I would like for you to think of it as an extension of our time together. You will be able to post pictures, youtube links, and other material that is interesting to you and may be of interest to the rest of us. I have only a few rules:
1. Respect each other and the opportunity that you have been given to express yourselves.
2. Only post class-related material.
3. If you post a picture, please make sure to discuss those elements of the picture that you find interesting and their relationship to our class.
4. Have fun!

I thought this was an interesting picture I found online. t relates to the passage in that women present themselves as capable of taking care of men's needs through cooking.

After seeing "pumpkin seeds" several times in The Edible Woman, I looked it up and found an interesting article that says PUMPKIN SEEDS ARE SHOWN TO BOOST YOUR SEX DRIVE. I thought this was hilarious. Check it out.

I was watching "My Strange Addiction" this weekend and it dawned on me that society has very firm ideas about what is consumable and what is not. What "good food" is and what is not. Different levels of dining experiences--processed food, street food, gourmet food. Also, different countries have different ideas of what "good food" is. I just found it funny that Americans have created entertainment out of showing society's "freaks" eating things we consider inedible.
